I've always wanted to do a piece based on this fabulous composition: [link]
It's one of my favorites. I absolutely LOVE it. And I think it's perfect for Erik and Christine. Well, mostly for Erik. He oozes creepy.
If I could animate, I would absolutely animate a short film of the two of them dancing to this with a bit of a Burton flair. Can't you picture that? And I'd have them gradually picking up speed as the song gets faster, and there'd be a bunch of shadow...ghost...dancer people in the background. And at that very last dramatic note, Erik would gesture abruptly, and everything would disappear. Then he would bow slowly, and then look up at the "camera," and everything would fade to black except for his glowing yellow eyes....
Yay for hypothetical animation sequences!
It was fun to experiment with color and lighting like this. I used my favorites--colored pencil, marker, and ink. :) This is a terrible scan, though, so I'll upload a better one later.

Wait a .... isn't that Dance Macabre music used heavily in the ballet of the fictional Il Muto? As in, pretty girls dancing and fluffly white sheep and a pituresque, freshly hanged coprse falling out of the rafters?

I love Chrisine here; in the Webber Musical she's a bit too much child/puppet on a string for my taste (ya ya, she get's a bit more active towards the end, I know), and here she looks ... it's hard to tell wether she's into it and very much coming to life, or hypnotized by Eric's voice and music, or both.

Wonderful work, thanks for posting!
