" . . . he's more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same..."
~Cathy of Heathcliff, Wuthering Heights

I used a still from the 1992 version as a reference (the scenery is spectacular in that version) and various photos of moors for the background.

So I suppose this is Heathcliff and Cathy after death, finally free from worldly conflict (although they brought it all on themselves...Really, they're not very nice people. Catherine is snippy and demanding, and Heathcliff...well, I think it's safe to say that were he around today, he would be a contender for "America's Most Wanted." And yet, I still love them!).

I wanted to blend the two of them together, in a sense, because they are frequently described as being "one." It must be nice, to have that sort of companionship. Except for the fact that, you know, your significant other is a vengeful maniac who spends his time digging up your grave and gazing lovingly into your coffin.

Go to therapy, Heathcliff.

I've still got it bad for this book

Wuthering Heights belongs to Emily Brontë.

What a delight this is! All this inventing, this producing, takes place in a pleasing, lively dream.

Ugh! The beauty of this almost makes me want to like the book! :O

Yeah, I dislike it for the reasons you mentioned: just the incredible horribleness of the characters. I see why people would love it. I'm just not one of them. :) But this is soooooo beautiful.

Maybe I should watch the movie. For Ralph Fiennes if nothing else. :XD:

Beautiful!

I saw that movie at 13, and it started a long infatuation with Ralph Fiennes. Great movie. :D

LOVE the book, though they are all in need of some serious therapy! That's why I love it though. I like my love stories twisted! Great picture! <3

Beautiful. You captured it perfectly. So well done!!!
Ah, I disagree.. the grave scene is my favourite, I think they could have made the 1992 version better there. The 1998 version sees Heathcliff embrace the skeletal remains of Cathy. Better still, the latest version this year.. sees him get down into the grave, and lay holding her, asking why she has not come back. She has decomposed, but in his mind, he still can see her as she was. I found it immensely beautiful.

I always was fond of such kinds of love. Perhaps you think I need help.. but I do not.
